This is an exciting year to be part of the WIS family!
Over the summer, we returned to the downtown Cambridge community of Galt. We look forward to contributing to that community with excellence and enthusiasm. What does that mean? In a community, you rely on each other for support, resources and belonging. When you are part of our WIS community, you have those same things.
Our community supports all students to meet their individual potential, from academics to personal guidance to postsecondary planning. Everyone has different needs to help them meet that potential; when you are sitting in class, know that each person around you might have a unique set of tools helping them to be their best. Don’t forget there is always help, and asking for it shows strength.
At WIS, people are our greatest resource. Your teachers and the staff have expertise in a variety of areas and are dedicated to sharing that with you. But above that, they are caring people who want their students to succeed. Get to know your teachers- we’ve all come from interesting and diverse places- you never know what you might discover!
Your fellow students are going to be your everyday resource. You will do new and exciting things side by side, but also see each other through challenges. Remember to be kind as you go through your day. Kindness is an easy contribution to any community.
Finally, every member of our WIS community is valued for who they are. You each have an important contribution to make. You belong here, and we’re better because of you. Feel safe as you venture out into new ideas and experiences.
